Two Challenges in One

Hey there! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, mine was good but busy. We went out looking at computers on Saturday. I think we went to about every store that sells computers to price the same one out. We did a lot of running around, but I think we've found one that we like, we just need to go and get it now.

I've been busy at my craft table whittling away at some cards to post this week! My card today combines two challenges. The first challenge being Dawn McVey's very first color challenge called Raspberry Suite Color Challenge Week 1. Dawn's cards are always so fun, bright and cheery and I couldn't wait to get started on the color challenge! :D The sketch is Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #10.

Sophia was stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black Ink onto White Daisy CS. I then colored her with my Copics and cut her out with my Rectangle Nesties. I matted her onto a piece of Bazzill Bitter Chocolate CS and added a couple of Primas. I used some more paper from the DCWV Citrus pack...it's slowly becoming my new favorite! I also did some stitching and added three different sizes of CTMH White Daisy brads.

Fluttering By

Happy Saturday! It felt good to sleep in this morning...even if it was till only 8am. Last night I worked on Taylor's sketch, and since my Sophia's were feeling a little bit neglected I pulled out my all time fave "Fluttering By Sophia" and got her inky! :D

I stamped her with Brilliance Graphite Black Ink and colored her with Copics. I cut her out using my Oval Nesties and put her aside. I used some new paper from the DCWV pack called "Citrus." These colors are so fun and springy...I just love it! :) I of course added some stitching and put the center scalloped panel and oval on pop dots and called it done!

I plan on getting some more cards done this weekend because I have a busy week planned next week! I start taking Boot Camp classes twice a week for the next month, so I want to be a little bit pro-active in getting some cards made so I can post throughout the week! :) Because lets be honest...after Boot Camp all I want to do is come home, shower and go to bed! I'm Back!!!!

We had a great time in San Antonio. It's always so nice to get away for a few days...much needed! :D It's been a busy week though, trying to get everything ready for Christmas and I still have so much I want to do. I still have NOT finished all my shopping and I really want to get in the kitchen and bake some goodies!!! :D Plus work has been really busy...I'm taking my vacation the week after Christmas so I've been super busy trying to get everything done before I leave...it's crazy!!! LOL!!! :D Well enough about me...it's time to get to what you really came for! Today is Prettie Thursday here on my blog and boy do I have a cutie for you.

I made this card for the last Stampin in your Jammies Party over at Paper Pretties!!! One of the challenges was to make a card or project for a child...so I made this card for my niece. Isn't Snowflake the cutest?!?! I paper pieced his hat with some of my Aspen paper and outlined the snow with my copic marker. Paper Pretties just released this stamps set in rubbah so head on over there and check it out...It's called Snowflake Kisses. Simply Special Prettie Thursday

Hey there, Happy Thursday!!! :D Wow, what an exciting evening we had yesterday here in Houston...it actually snowed!!!! :D I know most of you out there deal with snow all the time during the winter, but the last time it snowed here was 4yrs. ago on Christmas Eve!!! That was the first time that I had ever been around snow so it was a pretty memorable experience.

The challenges used to be on Thursdays, but now they have moved the challenges to Sunday...you can read all about it here!!! For this challenge we were to use the stamps sets called Simply Special AND/ OR One of Those Days! We were to also use this sketch that the fabulous Danielle came up with!!! I really liked how my card came out...even though it was giving me a fit last night. Look Out World!!!

Happy Friday everyone! :D I'm so glad the weekend is here, it's gonna be a busy one! I'm almost done with ALL my Christmas shopping so I hope to get some more done this weekend, and then we are going to a Christmas party on Saturday. I know it's kinda early for parties right now, but it' was the only weekend that everyone was able to attend...it shall be FUN!!!! :D

For my card today, I knew I wanted to use Jen's SFYTT. She has a circle where I put my square image, but I'm thinking this will still work. I had colored Cooper a few nights ago and knew that I wanted to use my Star Struck paper with him. Isn't he adorable?!?!?! And as I sat in bed last night watching TV I decided to get up and finish this card!!! It came together pretty quickly since I was already using Jen's great sketch! :D

Prettie Thursday!!!

Hey there! I'm back today with another Prettie creation! I just love this Angel Wings Sophia and couldn't wait to get her inky!!! :D Monday was the Stampin in your Jammies Party over at the Paper Pretties forum. We had some much fun and Charmaine issued us some fabulous challenges!!! One of the challenges was a color challenge and you were to use pink and blue on your card. So here is what I came up with! :D

I chose the colors Crystal Blue, Baby Pink & White Daisy. I stamped Sophia in Brilliance Black Graphite Ink onto White Daisy CS and colored her with my copics! :D I also outlined her wings with my Clear Copic Spica Glitter pen. It's hard to tell in the pic, but looks so shimmery IRL! :D Don't ya just love her?!?!?! :D Well that's it for me today, hope you all have a fabulous day!!! :D It's sooo cold here today (BRRR!!!). I just want to make some hot cocoa and relax on the couch with a good movie! :D LOL!!!

First of all I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! :D I hope you have a great time with family and friends or however you choose to spend your holiday! :D I will be having Thanksgiving at my dad's house today and then traveling tomorrow to my home town to spend it with the in laws! :D

Prettie Thursday!!!

Happy, Happy Thursday everyone!!! :D I feel like a new woman today having got my hair cut and colored yesterday...feels so good! :D I have a super quick card I made for you today on this Prettie Thursday! :D I was so excited to do this card because I have been itching to use this Simply Special stamp from Paper Pretties...isn't it just darling?!?! And I have been dying to use my new Urban Prairie paper from Basic Grey...I absolutely love it!!!! :D

Stamps: Simply Special (Paper Pretties) & Say It in Style (CTMH) Paper: Urban Prairie (Basic Grey) & CTMH White Daisy, Sunflower, Hollyhock & Breeze CS Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black & CTMH & Copic Markers Accents: White Daisy Bigger Brads (CTMH), Paper Piercer, Black Button (Creative Cafe), Ghost Flowers (Heidi Swapp) & Pop Dots

This card is a standard A2 size card and I used Breeze CS as my base. I cut a 1/4" shorter piece of Hollyhock CS and then layered my Urban Prairie dp onto that. I then added four White Daisy Bigger Brads in each corner and taped it to my base. Next I stamped my image on White Daisy CS and colored it with my Copics & CTMH Markers. The water can looks more red here than pink but it's a really pretty pink IRL. I hate that I don't get good lighting...moving on! I then layered it onto a piece of Sunflower CS and pierced around the image. Next step i just added a ghost flower and black button to the top left corner of my image and pop dotted it onto my base...easy peasy! :D

Something Sweet on Prettie Thursday!!!

Wow, it feels like forever since I have stamped anything!!! Thanks to all of you who have wished me well. I am feeling a little better, but hope to feel better much soon because I really have alot of stamping to catch up on. I"m so sorry I haven't been to many of your blogs lately to comment, but I will get there...I PROMISE!!! :D Well it's that time of the week again...it's Prettie Thursday and I have something sweet for ya'! :D I whipped up this cute little card in no time yesterday using my Sweets for the Sweet stamps from Paper Pretties...I {heart} this stamp set! :D I hadn't used my Boom-Di-Ada paper in a while so I grabbed it and go to work. My card is a 4.5" x 9" square card folded in half, so cute and small enough to send with a batch of yummy goodies! :D Well that's it for me today... I hope to get some stamping time in tonight and on Friday!!! For the past two Saturdays we have been watching my nephew play soccer and the games are soooo much fun!!! We have another one this Saturday so GO DYNOMITES!!! :D At his age, they really don't keep score, but my nephew always knows what the score is...LOL!!! :D

Bet you thought I forgot about Prettie Thursday, huh?!?!? Nope, just been super busy and haven't had much time to blog or create. Now let's get on to the card, shall we?!?! This card is pretty simple. I really think these mittens are super cute from the Snowflake Kisses stamp set. I added liquid applique to the top part of the mittens...looks really cute IRL. Prettie Saturday!!!

Prettie Thursday!!!

Hey there, it's another Prettie Thursday!!! :D I have a great card to show you today using a sketch challenge Created by Courtney. This is my first time ever doing one of her challenges. I really liked the sketch so I thought I would give it a try!!! :D

Stamps: Flutter By (Paper Pretties) Paper: October Afternoon Dp & CTMH CS Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black & Copics Accents: CB Swiss Dots, Paper Piercer, Olive Brads, Heidi Swapp Ghost Flower, Black Sugar Coated Brad (Doodlebug) & Black Gingham Ribbon (Ribbon FX)

I wasn't sure what I was gonna do first, but I did know I wanted to use this FABulous October Afternoon dp I found at my LSS. So I pulled my colors from there and got to work!!! :D I started with my base first which is a piece of Black TCS. I then layered a piece of Sunflower TCS and then a piece of Breeze CS that I ran through my CB using the Swiss Dots folder. I'm so glad I still have some of that Breeze CS left as it is being retired! (sigh!) Next I tied some black gingham ribbon to the bottom of my card and went ahead and used my corner rounder to make the scallops on my delish dp! :D Next I got to work on my image. I just love Sophia and this stamp was the first Prettie stamp I owned so I tend so show her alot of love!!! :D I stamped Sophia with Brilliance Graphite Black Ink onto White Daisy CS. I colored her in with my Copics, but to tell you the truth I had the hardest time coloring her. I wasn't sure what color her dress should be, what color the butterfly should be...yada, yada, yada! LOL!!! :D But I figured it out and I think she came out great! :D For a little sparkle, I used my Copic Spica Glitter pen on the butterfly, the flower and her jewerly. I then layered her on a piece of Black TCS and stamped Happy Birthday in the bottom left hand corner. Next I went to piercing and added two small olive brads to the top of my mage. I am so "in love" right now with these Heidi Swapp Ghost images that I had to add one to this card too! I added a daisy and used a suger coated black brad from Dooglebug to add it to my image...cute, huh?!?! :D

A few things before I head out! Prettie Thursday!!!

Happy Thursday!!! :D We are having the most fabulous weather here in Houston. I just {heart} cool, crisp mornings! :D Mornings I can straighten my hair and it won't frizz up!!! LOL!!! :D Well yesterday was a pretty sad day for me. Since Hurricane Ike I haven't been back to work in Galveston, but yesterday I got to go back and work there for the day and I just couldn't believe the destruction as I drove in. I mean you see things on TV, but it just doesn't prepare you for the real thing. My heart was saddened and I hope they can get things back to normal soon!!!

Well let's get on with my card, shall we?!?! I had my Evensong paper still sitting on my table and thought it would be cute paired with Sweets for the Sweet! :D I used a sketch that Danielle challenged us to use about two weeks ago...I guess better late than never, right?!?! I loved this sketch so I just had to do it and I thought it would be a great card to send with some Christmas goodies!!! It's a square card, go figure and I used Cranberry CS as my base. I then added a 1/4" smaller piece of Sorbet CS that I ran through my CB using the Swiss Dots folder, and used the reverse side and adhered it to my base. Next I placed two different squares of dp down and started working on my image. I just love this super cute image!!! I colored it with my copics pulling the colors from my paper. Next I layered my image onto a piece of Olive CS and stamped the sentiment in Brilliance Graphite Black Ink under my image. I then paper pieced around the image and added a pretty red felt flower. Once my image was pop dotted onto my base I added two White Daisy brads and called it done! :D It's pretty simple but I think it's missing something, maybe I should add some ribbon?!?! Some Prettie Exciting News!!!

Happy Thursday everyone!!! :D So today is the day, the day I can spill the beans on some prettie exciting news I received a few weeks ago. I am so proud to announce that I will be one of the Paper Pretties Guest Designers for the next three months (Oct. - Dec.). :D I am so grateful for the opportunity that Jessie and Christie, the owner of Paper Pretties have given me. I can't wait to create more with these amazing line of stamps, I just love my pretties!!! :D You should also check out the other guest designers that I will be joining, they are Stephanie Hargis, Frances Byrne and Christi Thorsen...and they are absolutely amazing!!! :D

Well let's get to it, here is my first card as a prettie guest designer. I used Howdy Girlfriend and isn't she just adorable! :D I thought Sophia would look great paired with my Sarsaparilla dp from CTMH. My base is a 4.5" x 4.5" piece of Desert Sand CS. I added a 3" piece of dp to one side and a 1.5" piece of Black CS that I ran through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder to the other. I then added a 1" piece of Crystal Blue CS to cover the seam between the two and scissor distressed the edges of the CS and dp to give it that rustic cowgirl look! :D

Next I went to work on little Sophia. I stamped her onto White Daisy CS using Brilliance Graphite Black Ink. I then colored her with my copics and cut her out using my cirlce nesties. And since I was going with a rustic look I inked the edges with Desert Sand ink, and then pop dotted her onto my base. For the sentiment, I stamped Howdy Girlfriend in Brilliance Graphite Black ink onto White Daisy CS. I then inked the edges with Desert Sand ink and layered it onto a piece of Barn Red CS and scissor distressed the edges. I then added two pewter brads and pop dotted it onto my base, and that's it...easy peasy! :D Well thanks so much for stopping by today and be sure to stay tuned for some more Prettie creations! :D

I miss you...

So here it is peeps...Wednesday! We've made it halfway through the week and only two more days to go!!! LOL!!! :D It's been pretty busy at work, but sometimes I think that's good because it makes the time fly by! :D

Well I didn't get much stamping done last night as I haven't been feeling well. But here is a card I haven't shown you. I made this card for one of the Paper Pretties Stampin' in your Jammies challenges. The challenge was to make a square card, and we all know how much I LOVE square cards! :D Pretty simple and probably the fastest card I have ever made. I used my new paper from Cosmo Cricket called Honey Pie for this sweet little Sophia holding her teddy! :D Added some buttons and whola, you have a cutesy square card! :D

Happy Hump Day everyone!!! :D The week is almost over...LOL!!! :D Am I crazy for saying that when we only have to work four days this week?!??! LOL!!! :D I have some super exciting news!!! On Monday Paper Pretties had a Stamping in your Jammies Party and I was chosen as the Cutie Pie for the month of September!!! :D I was so excited...I couldn't believe it! :D This card was my winning card! :D Thanks a bunch Christie!!! I just love your stamps, they are just so fun to work with!!! :D

Well since we are talking Paper Pretties, here is a card I created last night using this sweet little Sophia image. On a previous card I used Blush CS with the Silhouette dp and I thought I would see what Breeze would like and I'm so glad I tried it...I loved it!!! :D The card came together pretty fast once I knew what dp I would use. I just love the polka dots in the Silhouette pp...I couldn't help but use it!!! :D My other favorite is the Prima and polka dot brad...love it too!!! :D

Need a Cuddle?!?!

Hey there! Hope everyone is enjoying their long holiday weekend?!?! I have been so busy that this is the first day that I've done any stamping! I had game night on Friday at a friends house and yesterday we went to an outlet mall here in Houston. So it's been busy, busy, busy and tomrrow I am going over to hang out at my dad's house to eat and swim! :D

Well enough about me, here's a card I made using one of my new Paper Prettie stamps called Need a Cuddle? I just love Sophia and thought she would go great paired with the Silhouette polka dot paper and I decided to add Blush with it! :D I love how it came out, it's a little simple but I like it! :D Well sorry this is short, but I'm off to watch some Big Brother and then do some more stamping!!! Well it's been awhile...

Since my last post, I hope I still have some readers out there...LOL!!! :D Life's just been busy with work and home that I haven't had much time to do any card making lately. I've gotten some new stamps and they are all waiting to be inked up, hopefully with the long weekend approaching I can find some time to stamp!

Here's one of my new stamps from Paper Pretties called Bunny Slippers Sophia! :D This is so me in the mornings...I am totally not a morning person!!! :D I had a difficult time with this card last night, it was like pulling teeth. So after a few hours I decided this will have to do...it was already late and I needed to get to bed. My card is a 5" x 10" piece of Chocolate CS folded in half. I then layered a piece of Baby Pink CS on top of that and then a piece of Creative Cafe dp on top of that! :D I just love this paper and have been using it quite a bit lately...hope your not too tired of it?!?! :D I then pierced around the whole dp sheet and added a silver brad to each corner. I stamped Sophia with Brilliance Graphite Black onto White Daisy CS and colored her with my copics. I then layered her onto some Baby Pink CS and then on some Chocolate CS. I love piercing so I pierced around the whole image and added a silver brad to each corner. I added some chocolate grosgrain ribbon and pop dotted my image onto my base. I stamped my sentiment in Brilliance Graphite Black as well and layered it on a piece of Baby Pink CS, also piercing and adding brads to it! :D
